Do I need to wear a face covering or mask while delivering with Sherpa?

  • Updated

The Australian Federal, State and Local Governments have established particular laws around the wearing of face coverings. These laws apply to courier drivers, and therefore apply to Sherpa drivers.

If there is a rise in community transmission in your state or territory then the advice on masks may change. It’s important to stay up to date with the advice in your local area. Your state or territory government will provide this.

To stay up to date on the latest mask advice, follow your local government’s updates. You can find updates by your local governments below:

A face covering can either be a surgical or cloth face mask. If you have trouble finding one at short notice, you can also make it on yourself by using a scarf or any other piece of fabric to cover your nose and mouth.

While a mask can be used as an extra precaution, you must continue to:

  • stay at home if unwell
  • maintain physical distance (more than 1.5m) from other people, when out
  • avoid large gatherings and crowded indoor spaces
  • practise hand and respiratory hygiene

Be sure to physical distance where possible while working for Sherpa, and follow the Contactless Delivery processes on your driver app.
