Unassigning Deliveries: How-To Guide for Drivers

  • Updated

If you accept a delivery that you are no longer able to complete, you can unassign yourself directly via the app. Do this as soon as possible. This is so we can open the job up to other drivers to ensure the items are delivered to the recipient on time:

  • You can only unassign yourself via the app before "arrived for pick-up."
  • If you need to unassign yourself from a delivery during or after pick-up, you must contact support.
  • Unassignments made within 5 minutes of accepting the delivery do not impact your unassignment rate.
  • Frequent late unassignments may result in a warning.

If you need to unassign yourself from a delivery or run you've accepted, follow these steps:

Unassigning a Single Delivery:

Step 1: Tap the three dots in the top right corner of the app.

  • Scenario 1 (Accepted less than 5 minutes ago): You can unassign yourself without it affecting your unassignment rate. This option is available only before you "arrive for pick-up."

  • Scenario 2 (Accepted more than 5 minutes ago): Unassigning yourself counts towards your unassignment rate, similar to contacting support for unassignment.

Unassigning a Run:

Step 1: Tap the three dots in the top right corner of the app.

  • Scenario 1 (Accepted less than 5 minutes ago): You can unassign yourself from the run without impacting your unassignment rate, provided you haven't "arrived for pick-up."

  • Scenario 2 (Accepted more than 5 minutes ago): Unassigning yourself counts towards your unassignment rate, similar to contacting support for unassignment.

Unassigning a Run with "Arrived for Pick-Up" Status:

You can only unassign yourself from a run if none of the deliveries in that run have been marked as "arrived for pick-up." If one or more deliveries are marked as such, you'll need to contact Sherpa Support via live chat or call for assistance.

Make sure to unassign yourself promptly if you're unable to complete a delivery or run, so the job can be reassigned to another driver and ensure timely delivery to the recipient.
