Around 80% of applications are approved within 1-2 days of submission provided all required documents are submitted correctly.
Here are some reasons your account approval might be delayed
There's an issue with one or more of your documents
If there's a problem with any of your uploaded documents, the system will let you know directly in your onboarding dashboard so you can fix it (see below example).
Background checks in progress
Work rights and Police checks are processed by external providers, so timelines can vary slightly.
If you already have a valid police check from another company, you may be able to transfer it - provided it meets all required conditions listed here.
If you've applied for a new police check, processing typically takes up to 7 days, which may add a little extra time to your onboarding. As soon as your checks are complete, you'll have an approved account.
Previous account status
If you've applied to drive with Sherpa before, we check for details as part of the onboarding process.
In some cases, applications may be paused or not accepted due to a previous account status. If this applies to you, you may be able to request a review for reinstatement. Any decision will depend on the outcome of the review and whether requirements are met.
Your email address doesn't match across systems
To complete onboarding successfully, your details need to match across Sherpa and WorkPro.
Delays can occur if:
- You sign up to WorkPro using a different email address than the one you used for your Sherpa application
To avoid delays, make sure to use the same email address for both WorkPro and Sherpa
Your mobile number hasn't been confirmed
Your account can't be approved until your mobile number is verified. If this step hasn't been completed, final activation may be delayed.
Check your messages and follow the prompts to confirm your mobile number so your account can be approved.
