Job Offers are the primary method for assigning deliveries on the Sherpa Platform. We strongly recommend having them enabled to ensure you don't miss out on any delivery opportunities.
What’s a Job Offer?
Job Offers are deliveries (or runs) visible to you in your driver app for a limited time. Only some jobs may be offered exclusively to you.
The type of alert you receive depends on what you're doing in the app when the offer comes through.
Each offer includes key details that help you decide if you'd like to accept the job or not. If you do, it will appear in your My Jobs list - just like any other job you've been assigned or chosen to take.
Note: Ignoring or declining Job Offers consistently will reduce the likelihood of you receiving them.
Why am I being sent them?
We use our best-match calculation to determine which drivers are best for particular jobs. We consider things such as your distance to the pickup location, your capacity and recent performance (late and unassignment rates) to determine who is suitable for each offer sent.
Which jobs will be sent as Job Offers?
Almost all newly opened jobs and runs will be first offered by Job Offers, and there are plenty to go around!
Additionally, we also send them to notify of price increases before they appear on the map.
Does a Job Offer go through multiple rounds?
Yes, it is possible for a Job Offer to go through multiple rounds.
When a Job Offer is sent for the first time, it is visible only to you for a limited time - it will not be available on the map to ensure that you have the first chance to accept it.
If it is not accepted during the first round, it will go through subsequent rounds of offers. However, in this round, the job is no longer exclusive and will appear on the map, allowing other drivers to accept it as well.
Does my Everest tier influence my chance of getting a job offer?
Drivers on all tiers will be eligible to receive Job Offers, but your likeliness to be sent them is increased if you are performing well. Keeping your late and unassignment rates low will increase your chances of being sent job offers.
Will declining/ignoring them affect my account?
There are no penalties for declining or ignoring Job Offers, however we track your recent acceptance of them, and preference will be given to drivers who consistently accept them. If you have not received any before, your 'acceptance' rate is considered high until you decline or reject offers.
If you decline or reject 10 job offers in a row, we will temporarily disable them to ensure drivers who do wish to receive them have the opportunity to do so.
To resume receiving job offer notifications, please make sure you've set yourself in "Start" mode.
Do I have to do anything?
We recommend you review your Notification Preferences to make sure you're set to receive offers:
- In Find Jobs, make sure the "Start" mode is enabled
- Check your mobile device settings to ensure you have Push Notifications on for Sherpa
- Allow GPS tracking for the Sherpa Driver app so we can check if you're close to pickup locations
- Check you have sounds turned on for the Sherpa Driver app
-
You can choose to opt-out of Job Offers for grocery & CBD deliveries, as shown below:
Can I turn them off?
If you don't wish to be alerted of new work you can set yourself to "Stop" mode in Find Jobs. This presumes you're not currently working on the Sherpa platform and will not send you any offers. However, in the event that you have an active shift, accept a new job/run, or action a previously accepted delivery, we will revert you to "Start" mode. To learn more about how this works, please refer to this article.
Why are other drivers getting them but I’m not?
Unless you’ve toggled to "Stop" mode, it may just mean you’re not matched to the jobs on offer. We also require a recent location update to check if you're close to the pickup location, so if you have had your GPS off for more than 5 mins, we likely don't know where you are.
Please note:
If you’re receiving them after they've expired, or not at all, you may wish to check if you have enabled Push Notifications for Sherpa and that you're receiving them at the time they are sent.
